NAME: James L. (Jim) Lehmann
PLACE OF BIRTH: Downers Grove, Ill., 6/19/1937
EDUCATION:
Jim attended grade and high school in Downers Grove, Ill. 2 years at Ripon College, Ripon, Wisconsin.
He has taken numerous courses in Vacuum Technology, Metallurgy, Computers
and Project Management thru Argonne National Laboratory and
Los Alamos National Laboratory.
CLUBS:
Active in the Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club while living in Los Alamos. A competitive pistol shooter. Was on the Board of Directors for 17 years.
ELKS:
Initiated on October 12, 1970. Served as Exalted Ruler in 1980-81;
Lodge Trustee 1981 - 1986,
Chrm. 2 yr; Esquire to District Deputy NMEA Bill Boedeker 1985-86. District
Deputy NMEA
1988-89, Lodge Trustee 1989 – 1995, President of the PER Assoc. in
1985-86, and has been Secretary/Treasurer for 9 years. Served on a total
of 20 different committees in his Lodge.
Served on the NMEA CP Executive Board for 8 years, serving as NE District
Chairman for
6 years (including 2 years as Secretary), 1 year as Vice-Chairman and 1 year as
State Chairman.
Served as
Sergeant-At- Arms 2005-06. He is currently NE District Chairman for ENF,
State Protocol Chairman and NMEA Trustee.
Jim was elected to Life membership in Los Alamos Lodge #2083 on Oct. 28, 2002.
Since moving to Rio Rancho after retirement, he has been an associate
member of that Lodge.
He has been president of Rio Rancho’s PER Assoc. and for the past 10 tears has
been the
Sec./Treas. He is currently serving as the Lodge Mediator, C&B Trust Chrm. and
Ritual Coach.
Jim has attended 21 Grand Lodge sessions.
OCCUPATION:
He is retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory at the Plutonium
Facility as a Technician
Project Leader in the Facilities Engineering Section. His job involved
supervising maintenance
and construction projects at this facility.
MARRIAGE AND CHILDREN:
Jim married the former Carole Sue Johnson of Downers Grove, Ill. on
August 8, 1959. They have
a daughter, Deborah Sue Atkinson and her husband, Ken and two grandchildren,
Erin Michelle Atkinson, currently attending NM State University
and Brandon
Michael Atkinson who lives in Englewood, Co.
