CP... Our Major Project... New Mexico
Cerebral Palsy Commission Your Cerebral Palsy
Program has provided equipment and services throughout the state of New
Mexico since 1951. Filly years of helping our Special Kids and their
families. We first provided therapy services with our Mobile Units provided the first 9 outside therapists to the public schools and then expanded to providing equipment and grants. We employed as consultants 29 therapists wherever we could find them until the public schools hired them. As we grew we provided grant-in-aids to local programs and four universities. We continue to help support the annual orthopedic seminar with Carrie Tingley Hospital each January. Today, with our “Wakable/treadmill rehabilitation techniques, we help kids and adults way beyond anything we ever did in the past. You as Elks have allowed us to do all these things and you should be very proud to have made such an impact. It is interesting that all of this has been done due to the efforts of our Executive Board and our Cerebral Palsy Committee men and women. Twenty-six Elks that carry the responsibility for the entire program. The two fund drive mailings provide our basic income but the personal efforts of a small group of Elks are responsible for our successes. We thank you all that support the program and appreciate your continued leadership. Sincerely and Fraternally, Walt Kincaid
