LYLE G. WEEKS, JR., NMEA SECRETARY Lyle Weeks was born in Seneca Falls, New York on June 8, 1947. He graduated from Waterloo Senior High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly thereafter. Lyle served over 22 years in the Air Force in service to our Country, having served overseas in Vietnam, Turkey and Germany, where he was a member of the NATO Tactical Evaluation Team. He was honorably discharged in 1988 with a rank of SMSgt (E-8), having been awarded six good conduct medals, the Vietnam Campaign ribbon with 3 bronze battle stars, the Air Force Commendation Medal and 2 Air Force Meritorious Service Medals. In addition, Lyle earned his Associate of Arts in Armament Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Lyle was initiated into the Order in Alamogordo Lodge No. 1897 in 1994. He served the Alamogordo Lodge numerous years as Chairman or member of the Investigation Committee, Membership Committee, Cerebral Palsy and most recently as the Gaming Auditor. In addition to the Knight stations, Lyle served as Exalted Ruler in 2000-2001, President of the PER Association 2003-2004, and Chairman of the Trustees from 2002-2004 and again in 2006-2007. Lyle is still a member of the Lodge Trustees. Alamogordo Lodge named Lyle Weeks their Officer of the Year for 1998-1999. He is also an all state ritual champion, having won Class A Exalted Ruler in 2001. He is heavily involved in our State’s charity, Cerebral Palsy, having served since 2000 as a member of the Executive Board, Southwest District Chairman, Vice Chairman and presently the Chairman. Additionally, he has been the Southwest District Chairman for Laws and Auditing and Business Practices. Lyle served his district as the District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in 2004-2005, and was awarded the Grand Exalted Ruler’s Commendation for Excellence in 2005. Lyle is supported by his loving wife, Pat; whom he has been married to since 1968. Also, his two daughters, Brenda Debusk and Lisa Manwaring, and son, Michael Weeks. He and Pat are proud grandparents of Kyle, Cody, Matthew and Autumn. Lyle is presently employed as an Aircraft Quality Control Inspector and Product Improvement Monitor for a government contractor at Holloman Air Force Base. He has served in this capacity since his retirement from the Air Force in 1988. Lyle was recently elected as the New Mexico Elks Association Secretary at the Spring Convention in Santa Fe, New Mexico, April 1, 2007.
